The first job can be exciting – new tasks, new people, a new routine. If all this is also accompanied by a (relatively) new language and culture, many question can arise: What do I do if I don't understand something or if I do something different than is expected? Is there such a thing as German working culture and (how) can I prepare myself for it? And what role does culture play at all at a globalized workplace? This workshop intends to create an understanding of one’s own expectations on the first “German” job and will provide strategies for dealing with challenges at a globalized workplace in Germany. The event is intended for both international graduates who are starting their professional life as well as students who want to prepare for an internship or a job as a working student. The event is held in German, but questions can also always be asked in English. THE WORKSHOP WILL PRESUMABLY TAKE PLACE IN PERSON IN THE OLYMPIADORF (U3). WE WILL ANNOUNCE THE EXACT LOCATION A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT. The event is organized in cooperation with amiga, Career Center for Internationals (amiga is supported by the “Münchner Beschäftigungs- und Qualifizierungsprogramm (MBQ) of the state capital of Munich.
