Gender-sensitive language is a controversial topic in Germany, often accompanied by insecurities. What different concepts are there regarding gender-sensitive language? And what are the ideas behind the asterisk, colon, underscore or the “Binnen-I” (medial capital I)? Quite often it also comes to attacks on feminist positions and on all the people who are standing up against discrimination. What are the positions hiding behind terms such as “Gendergaga” or “Genderwahn” [gender mania]? What sort of argumentation do we come across where (online and offline) and how can we deal with it in an adequate way? Apart from providing information introducing the topic, this interactive workshop is also about reflecting on your own point of view as well as about the question when and with whom you want to start a discussion on the topic. How can you stand up for your position and how can you set boundaries when it comes to insults or attacks? THE EVENT IS GOING TO TAKE PLACE ONLINE. AFTER REGISTERING, I.E., A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT IS DUE TO BEGIN, YOU WILL RECEIVE AN INVITATION LINK.The workshop will be held in German.
