The majority of students finance their studies by working. There are many different employment options and there are a number of aspects to consider. We will introduce you to the various options. Be it a "mini-job", work as a student or research assistant ("Hiwi"), employment as a working student or a so-called "midi-job". We also look at jobs that are limited to the semester break or other time periods. Questions that we will answer: What do I generally have to consider when looking for a job? When do I have to pay social security contributions / taxes on my earnings? What about health insurance if I work alongside my studies? For international students, we discuss questions such as: To what extent am I allowed to work (maximum limit)? What combinations are possible (student assistant & part-time job)? When do I have to report my work to the Foreigners' Registration Office? These and other questions and information will be discussed so that you are well informed and can successfully look for a job. The talk is held via ZOOM. Registrations are possible until December 2nd 2024. Date: Wednesday, December 4th 2024Time: 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.Speaker: Sabine StöhrCost: free of charge
